2006 Gouguenheim Malbec
Valle Escondido, Mendoza, Argentina, $9.99! at Brawley's Beverages.
Sure, we're cheap. But that doesn't mean we have to drink like it. When someone recommended this wine, we thought, “Maybe.” They described the powerful aromas of ripe berries and chocolate and even more powerful flavors of all the above, plus spice and tobacco. We thought, “Maybe.” And then we saw the price and thought, “Definitely.” It lives up to the description, which just proves: Sometimes, you get what you pay for. And sometimes, you get a whole lot more.
