Gastonia police are asking for the public's help in identifying a man who robbed a Family Dollar store earlier this month at gunpoint.
The robbery happened Aug. 10 at the store in the 1600 block of South York Road.
Police say a suspect entered the store, approached the counter to buy a bottle of water, and pulled out a gun when the cashier opened the register. The suspect took money from the register and fled in a 1997 or 1998 gray SUV with black trim.
The suspect is described as a black male, about 6 feet tall and weighing 240 pounds. he was wearing a light tan shirt, baggy dark jeans, and sunglasses.
